It is nice to see that you can use latex.

Step One
Express 3 1/4 as an improper fraction.


(3*4 + 1)/(4) = (13)/(4)

Step two
Convert this to a percent.
All you do is multiply by 100


(13)/(4)*100 = 325\%

Comment
It is just fine to get over 100%. There are lots of things measured this way. If you are very lucky, one stock you buy might go up this amount.

3 is a whole number, and will equal = 300%

Divide 1 with 4

1/4 = 0.25
Move the decimal point to the right two place values and put it as a percentage
0.25 = 25%

Add the percentage. 300 + 25 = 325

325% is your answer
