The role of the women expanded greatly in World War 2, including joining factory lines to produce vehicles and equipments for the men at war, as well as look after the house and the family, and save material for the war effort. Some also joined the army pretending to be male, and worked as spies, secretaries, and other jobs.

hope this helps
