The angle of elevation from point A to the top of a cliff is 38 degrees. If point A is 80 feet from the base of the cliff, how high is the cliff ?

The tangent ratio is
tan(38°) = opposite/adjacent = (height of cliff)/(distance to base)
Multiplying the equation by the denominator gives
height of cliff = (80 ft)*tan(38°) ≈ 62.5 ft
