A gigabyte is a unit of digital information storage, which comprises 10 to the power of 9 bytes. On the other hand, a magazine is a data storage unit equivalent to 10 to the power of 6 bytes. Given this information, we want to find out how many times more a gigabyte is than a magazine.

To find this, we can simply divide the amount of bytes in a gigabyte by the amount of bytes in a magazine.

Step 1: Take the number of bytes in a gigabyte, which is 10^9 or 1,000,000,000.

Step 2: Take the number of bytes in a magazine, which is 10^6 or 1,000,000.

Step 3: Divide the number of bytes in a gigabyte by the number of bytes in a magazine. This gives us 1,000,000,000 divided by 1,000,000 equals 1000.

So, a gigabyte is 1000 times greater than a magazine, or simply: 1 gigabyte equals 1000 magazines.
