The words infertility and impotence describe conditions of the male reproductive system. Do the two words mean the same thing? Explain your answer.

No, the two word doesn't mean the same thing. Infertility means that the male doesn't fulfill a set of condition needed to fertilize the egg and cause pregnancy. The condition that causes infertility involves the low sperm count, low sperm motility, blockage of the sperm transportation or antibody to sperm.

Impotence or erectile dysfunction means that the male cannot maintain an erection, thus cannot do ejaculation either.

The inability to achieve and maintain an erection is called Impotence or erectile dysfunction whilst a person who  has low sperm count with the inability that to achieve a successful pregnancy or physical inability to ejaculate semen from the body is called infertility.
