Nixon and Khrushchev debated in a kitchen due to their differences in economic philosophies.
This event took place in 1959, when Vice-President Richard Nixon went to Moscow to walk Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev through an American exhibit in Moscow. This meeting was supposed to be part of a cultural exchange in order for the US and Soviet Union to better understand each other. However, this turned into a debate when Khrushchev began to talk about recently passed laws in the US. This debate would go on for several minutes, as both men argued about current politics and economics in the US and Soviet Union.
