y-5=2(x-4)

y-5=2x-8

Solve for y --- > y=2x-3

-2x+y=-3

(-2x+y=-3)*-1

2x-y=3

A PARALLEL line has the same angular coeficient, so:


f(x) = 2x+b


f(4) = 5


5 = 2\cdot 4 +b


b = 5-8


b = -3

The line asked is:


f(x) = 2x-3
