World War I had a negative impact on the Ottoman Empire, as it collapsed shortly after the armistice was signed that ended the fighting in World War I. Before this time, the Ottoman Empire was a very strong empire. However, the 20th century brought on several different wars and a poor economy. Along with this, their loss in World War I helped in breaking up the unity of this empire.
