Hi there!

• Covert 1
\frac {1}{2} into normal fraction.
Cuz' following quantity, 1
\frac {1}{2} is in the form of mixed fraction.

∴ 1
\frac {1}{2} =
\frac {3}{2}

Accr'ding to the question :-

A recipe for one batch calls
\frac {3}{2} cups of flour.

∵ 1 batch needs =
\frac {3}{2} cups of flour

Multiply 3 to both th' sides :-

3 × 1 batch needs = 3 ×
\frac {3}{2} cups of flour

∴ 3 batchs needs =
\frac {9}{2} Or 4
\frac {1}{2} cups of flour.

~ Hope it helps!
