(5.05 MC)Fish species A has a gestation time of three months and lays 300 eggs per clutch. Fish species B has a gestation time of 5 months and lays 200 eggs per clutch. Which fish species would make a better model organism, and why?

Fish species B would make a better model organism because at the end they produce 100 eggs more than fish species A.Fish species B is more likely to survive than Fish species A.

Fish species A would make a better model organism. This is because it will have shorter generation times (gestation time of three months) and produce more offspring. An organism is considered a good model organism if it is well understood, can produce a large number of offspring within a short period of time, can grow to maturity rapidly, possess a short life span and can be easily manipulated.
