A cube has an edge length of 6 inches. You multiply the side lengths by 4. How many times greater is the volume of the new cube?

6 times 4 is 24, so we're comparing cubes with lengths 6 and 24.

6³ = 216
24³ = 13,824

Then you divide the larger number by the smaller number to get the difference.

13,824 ÷ 216 = 64

The larger cube has a volume 64 times greater than the smaller cube.
