From 1880 to 1915, wealthy people decided to look for new forms of entertainment to use their cash on. This started with vaudeville shows, (separate, unrelated acts like... acrobatics and dancers). Then the form of entertainment advanced into theaters and movies. Entertainment also included circus' and amusement parks. Along with shows and movies, sports was a big turn of the twentieth century. Wealthy people paid to see baseball and football in action. More personal forms of entertainment include magazines and newspapers. Along with the invention of the piano which helped develop new musical genres like ragtime and jazz.
