Car 1's speed is 5 minutes * 12 = 60 min = 1 hour
12 * 10 = 120 mph
So the speed is 120 mph.
Car 2's speed is 20 minutes * 3 = 60 minutes = 1 hour
3 * 30 miles = 60 miles mph
120 - 60 = 60 mph
The difference is the speed of the two cars is 60 mph
