Here, P = 2L + 2W, and L=W+55. Subbing W+55 for L in P = 2L + 2W, we get:
P = 2(W+55) + 2W = 270 in
2W + 110 + 2W = 270 in, or 4W = 160 in. Then W=40 in, and L=(40+55)in.
