Valdivia lead the conquest of Chile from 1540, and was the founder of the country's oldest cities, Santiago (1542), La Serena (1544), Concepción (1550), Valdivia (1552), and La Imperial (1552). In 1542 he was designated the title of Governor and General Captain of the Kingdom of Chile.
-Alberto Hurtado, popularly known as Father Hurtado, was a chilean lawyer, legislator and Jesuit priest. He is considered the Patron saint of chilean workers.
