Hello!

This looks like an Order of Operations problem. To do this, you will evaluate in the following order.

Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication
Division
Additon
Subtaction

Multiplication and division and addition and subtraction are grouped together. With multiplying and dividing, go in the order from left to right in the equation, so if division comes first, do it first. The same goes for addition and subtraction. You just do the parentheses, then the exponent, than multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction.

I will solve the equation below following this order.

5/(4-3) x 3^2-2
5/1 x 3^2-2 (Solve Parentheses)
5/1 x 9-2 (Solve Exponent)
5 x 9-2 (Solve Division)
45-2 (Solve Subtraction)
43

Our final answer is 43.

Hope this helped!
