For this case, the first thing we must do is define a variable.
x: number of newspapers sold per week.
We now write the equation for the total of newspapers.
We have then:

0.10 (2x) + 0.25x = 13.95
Rewriting we have:

0.20x + 0.25x = 13.95 0.45x = 13.95 x = 13.95 / 0.45 x = 31
For Mattthew we have:

2x = 2 (31) = 62
For his brother:

x = 31
Answer:
each boy delivers each week about:
Mattthew: 62
His brother: 31
