Remove fractions. Starting with (3/4)(x-8) = 12, mult. both sides by (4/3):

(4/3)(3/4)(x-8) = 12(4/3)

Then: x-8 = 16, and x = 24.

Answer:

C.Distribute
(3)/(4) over (x-8).

Explanation:

We are given that Zachary is solving an equation

(3)/(4)(x-8)=12

We have to find that which best first step to begin to simplify the equation.

If distribute
(3)/(4) over (x-8)

Distributive property:
a\cdot(b+c)=a\cdotb+a\cdot c

Using this property

Then, we get

(3)/(4)x-6=12

(3)/(4)x=12+6

Using subtractive property of equality

(3)/(4)x=18

x=(18* 4)/(3)=24

x=24

Hence, First best step is distribute
(3)/(4) over (x-8) to begin to simplify the equation

Answer:C.Distribute
(3)/(4) over (x-8).
