The width of a rectangle is 2 cm less than it’s length. The perimeter of the rectangle is 16 cm. what is the length of the rectangle?

let the length of the rectangle be x
then,the breadth of the rectangle is X-2
perimeter=2(l+b)=16 (given)
=2(X-2+X)
=2(2X-2). =16
=2X-2. =16/2
=2X. =8+2
=X. =10
So,the length of the rectangle is 10cm..
