What is the value of r in the equation 2(2r+8) =3r+16

4r+16 = 3r+16

subtract 3 from each side which leaves r.

subtract 16 from each side which leaves 0

r=0

2(2r + 8) =3r + 16
multiply 2 by parentheses

(2 * 2r) + (2 * 8)= 3r + 16
multiply in parentheses

4r + 16= 3r + 16
subtract 16 from both sides

4r= 3r
subtract 3r from both sides

r= 0


ANSWER: r=0
