2(2r + 8) =3r + 16
multiply 2 by parentheses

(2 * 2r) + (2 * 8)= 3r + 16
multiply in parentheses

4r + 16= 3r + 16
subtract 16 from both sides

4r= 3r
subtract 3r from both sides

r= 0

ANSWER: r=0

Hope this helps! :)
