A skyscraper is 396 meters tall. At a cenrtain time of day, it casts a showdow that is 322 meters long. At what angle is the sun above the horizon at that time?

To find the measure of the angle, use trigonometry ratio of tangent

`\text{tan} \theta = \frac{\text{opposite}}{\text{adjacent}}`

plug in the numbers

`\text{tan} \theta = (396)/(322)`

`\theta = \text{tan}^(-1) \left({(396)/(322) \right)`

`\theta = 50.884^(0)`
or approximately 50°
