Since it’s a right angled triangle, you can use the Pythagorean theorem, which states that
Altitude^2 + Base^2 = Hypotenuse^2
Altitude^2 = hypotenuse^2 - base^2
A^2 = 10^2 - 6^2
A^2 = 100-36
A^2 = 64
A= 8 units (since 8*8 is 64)

We could solve the problem using pythagorean theorem. The sum of the square of the perpendicular lines on right triangle is the square of the hypotenuse.
x² + 6² = 10²
all we need to do is solve for x
x² + 36 = 100
x² = 100 - 36
x² = 64
x² = 8²
x = 8
The value of x is 8
