Let x be the length

and

y be the width of rectangle

Then, the area will be:


A=length*width\\x*y=112

If the length and width are changes by a scale factor 1.5.

Then the area will be:


Area=(1.5x)(1.5y)\\=(2.25)(x*y)

We already know that xy=112

So the new area will be:


Area= (2.25)(112)\\=252\ cm^(2)
