1) According to its importance:

a) Primary Needs : Needs whose satisfaction depends on survival such as: eating, sleeping, drinking water, breathing, sheltering, etc.

b) Secondary Needs: Needs whose satisfaction increases the well-being of the individual, that is, seeks their integral development as a person. For example: communicate, listen to music, travel, etc.

2) According to its social nature:

a) Individuals Needs: Needs to be human.

They may be:

- Natural: eat, drink water, shelter, ... etc.

- Social: Have to live in a certain society: celebrate a wedding, see fashion dress, etc. They change from one society to another.

b) Needs of the Society: For example: public transport, security, public order, etc.

3) According to its importance for the economy:

a) Economic Needs: needs whose satisfaction requires the use of resources and the performance of some economic activity.

b) Non-Economic Needs: needs whose satisfaction does not require any economic activity: Example: breathing.

Human beings need these things in order physically to survive. Physiological needs include: breathing, water, food, sleep, shelter,...However, psychological and safety needs are also very important.
