To find the horizontal distance, use trigonometry ratio (tan)
tan α =
(opposite)/(adjacent)

plug in the numbers
tan 4.76° =
\frac{2}{\text{horizonal distance}}
horizontal distance =
\frac{2}{\text{tan 4.76}}
horizontal distance =
(2)/(0.083)
horizontal distance = 24

The shortest horizontal distance is approximately 24 ft
