perimeter of a square = 4 x side

=> 4s = 64

therefore, s = 64/4 = 16m

Area = s^2

=> 16^2 = 256m^2

A square has 4 equal sides.

Perimeter is the distance around the square, so to find th side length divide the perimeter by 4.

64 / 4 = 16

The sides of the square are 16 m each.

Area = L x W

Area = 16 x 16 = 256 square meters
