Roberto’s toy car travels at 30 centimeters per second at high speed and 20 cm/sec at low speed. If the car travels for 30 seconds at high speed and then 30 seconds at low speed , what distance would the car have traveled ?

Final answer:

The car would have traveled a total distance of 1500 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the distance the car traveled, we need to calculate the distance traveled at high speed and the distance traveled at low speed, and then add them together.

Distance traveled at high speed = Speed x Time = 30 cm/sec x 30 sec = 900 cm

Distance traveled at low speed = Speed x Time = 20 cm/sec x 30 sec = 600 cm

Total distance traveled = Distance at high speed + Distance at low speed = 900 cm + 600 cm = 1500 cm

It would of traveled 1500 cm. 30 times 30 seconds is 900 and 30 times 20 is 600. Both added is 1500
