Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction which produces off-springs which are identical to the parents. There are no variations generated in the progeny in this kind of reproduction. Few examples of asexual reproduction are binary fission, budding, fragmentation etc.

Rest of the options given are wrong. Option B is wrong because in sexual reproduction, gametes which combine to produce zygote which is the first cell of next generation are not diploid, they are haploid. But here in the option they are saying diploid gametes fuse which is wrong. Option C is also wrong, because in asexual reproduction gametes are not formed at all. Option D is also wrong because sexual reproduction can only be done by the production of gametes.
