The deoxygenated blood from the rest of the body parts enters the right atrium of heart via the venacava, which is the largest vein. The blood is then pumped to the right ventricle where it is again pumped with a high pressure through the pulmonary artery to the lungs. The blood then goes through the blood capillaries in the lungs where CO2 is released and oxygen gas is taken up. The oxygenated blood is taken back to the left atrium of the heart via the pulmonary vein. The blood is again pumped to the left ventricle where it is pumped to the other parts of the body at a very high pressure through the aorta which is the largest artery.
