Answer with explanation:

Value of the gift card = $ 40

Amount ,that is charged for a skate = $ 8

To express it in terms of equation that is function , which relates the value of the gift card, v, in terms if the number of visits, n.

Number of Visit(v), = 8×Number of visit (n)---------

→ v=8 n-------------------------------------------------------(Function)

→ 8 n=40

Dividing both side by, 8, we get

→ n=5

So, Number of visit(n) =5

→v=8 n, is the function which is the relationship between number of visits(n), and Value of gift card(v).

The value of the gift card = v = $40
The visit to the skate cost = $8
The number of visits = n
∴ n = the value of the gift card over the cost of one visit to the skate
∴ n = v/8 = 40/8 = 5

The general function for relating the value of the gift card, v, in terms if the number of visits, n. ⇒⇒⇒ v = 8n
