It is respected since leaders are accountable to and for the people.
The rule of law in a democracy conveys what actions are determined as wrong, harmful, or safe and allowed. This prevents people from fighting eachother to complete their desires. This rule of law creates a positive, successful, and stable community!

Hope this helps! :)
