y=3x4 -8x3 + 4x2 - x -5 is an even function. Highest power is x^4 (not x4).
As x increases in the + direction or decreases in the - direction, 3x^4 will increase in Q I and Q II respectively. Not a parabola, but looks like one, opening up.
