a) (t+s)(x) = t(x) + s(x) = x^3 +4x^2

b) (t*s)(x) = t(x)*s(x) = (x^3)*(4x^2) = 4x^5

c) (t-s)(-1) = t(-1) - s(-1) = (-1)^3 - 4(-1)^2 = -1 -4 = -5
