To find the measure of angle 2 we first need to find the value of x.

And to do that we can write the following equation based on the information we have in hand:

6x + 8 = 4x + 11 transfer like terms to the same side of the equation

6x - 4x = 11 - 8 add/subtract like terms

2x = 3 divide both sides by 2

x = 1.5 now to find the measure of angle 2 replace x with 1.5

6×(1.5)+8 = 17
