rate of change=

(y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
y2 and x2 being the coordinates of the point furthest from the (0,0) and x1 and y1 being the nearest

so if x1=2 then
h(x)= 2^2 = 4

and if x2=4 then
h(x)= 2^4=16

so rate of change is

(16 - 4)/(4 - 2) = (12)/(2 ) = 6
