Lysosomes are organelles that are bound by a membrane and are found in almost all animal cells.

They contain up to 60 different kinds of hydrolytic enzymes that can be further broken down into different kinds of biomolecules.

Apart from breaking down enzymes, they perform the function of waste disposal of the cell by digesting undesirable materials
