Follow these steps:
Distribute the - into the parenthesis.
-x - 4 = 2x + 35
Isolate x by adding it on both sides
- 4 = 3x + 35
Subtract 35 on both sides
-39 = 3x
Divide by 3 on both sides to get
-13 = x
