The amount of money an electrician charges when visiting a home to make a repair is shown by the linear equation c = 120 + 65h, where c is the amount the electrician charges and h is the number of hours spent at the home.

How much does the electrician charge when h = 2.5? __ $

the linear equation is:

c = 120 + 65h

You are trying to find out how much the electrician charges for 2.5 hours

Plug in 2.5 for h

c = 120 + 65(2.5)

Multiply 65 and 2.5 together

c = 120 + 162.5

Add 120 and 162.5 together

c = 120 + 162.5
c = 282.5

The cost for 2 1/2 hours is $282.50

hope this helps
