There are 6 others that are considered conditionally essential - because their synthesis is limited in some individuals with medical issues (arginine, cysteine, glycine, glutamine, proline and tyrosine).
5 amino acids are dispensable - we can make plenty (alanine, aspartic acid, asparagine, glutamic acid and serine.
