During the Great Depression, there was a global economic suffering that was more than enough to make the entire population lose hope in a better tomorrow. Such downward spiral of a once united and strong nation left many of the American citizens wondering if the land they once called "home" would ever be the same again.
However, even with such depressing situation, there were talented musicians who never lose hope that one day, America will rise up again.
Irving Berlin, a talent musician during 1930's composed songs about patriotism entitled, "God Bless America".
In response to Irving's work, Woody Guthrie composed a song entitled "This Land is Your Land". Guthrie himself had experienced living among the poor and dispossessed population brought about by the Great Depression.
