We want to find the slope of this function first to help us get our answer.

The slope of a function can be found with the following formula:

(y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)

Take any two points from the table to plug into the equation. We'll use (1,2) and (4,8):

(8 - 2)/(4-1) = (6)/(3) = 2

The slope of our function will be 2.

All of the answers are in slope-intercept form. Slope-intercept form uses the following formula:

y = mx + b

m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept of the equation.

We know that our slope is 2. The only answer with a slope of 2 is y = 2x.

The answer is D. y = 2x.

The answer is choice D.

y = 2x

I will show two reasons why this equation is correct.

Let x = 1

y = 2(1)

y = 2

The first point in the table is (1,2).

In the table, x = 3 is the second choice.

y = 2(3)

y = 6

The second point in the table is (3,6).

Answer: y = 2x
