You need only manipulate 3x-6y-2=0"

1) solve for y: subtr. 3x from both sides: -6y = -3x+2
2) divide this result by -6: y = (1/2)x - 1/3 (answer)

The slope form: y = mx + b
We have:
3x - 6y - 2 = 0 |add 6y to both sides
3x - 2 = 6y |divide both sides by 6
3x/6 - 2/6 = 6y/6
x/2 - 1/3 = y
y = 1/2 x - 1/3
