If you control the past you can control what people remember and events that took place in history. You can control the future and events that happen in the future.

1. Why are Parson's kids so cool in 1984?

Parsons bragged about his children for snitching to the Thought Police for his unorthodox behaviour. Family values are eradicated in the society, hence even parents are afraid of their children. The children are trained since young to spy on their parents and report any unorthodox behaviour of their parents

2. Explain the Party slogan, "Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past."

3. how does the two minute hate work?

a video of a man who committed treason; gives them someone to hate

4. Why is it important for the Party to have a class of proles, and what functions do they serve?

The proles are the working people -- the ones who provide all the more physical and manual labor that needs to be done in the society. For example, they serve the food at the cafeteria at Winston's workplace. They make up about 85% of the society

5. How does one's own body betray a person?

Any subtle movement showing hate of the party can cost your life.
