Using the Pythagorean Theorem:
x^2 + 15^2 = 40^2
x^2 + 225 = 1600
x^2 = 1600 - 225
x^2 = 1375
x = SQRT(1375)
x = 5SQRT(55)
x = 37.08 feet
Round answer as needed
