At high altitudes, Archie's asthma symptoms will be aggravated. Some of the physiological changes that occur include:

The cold dry air will cause inflammation of the airways hence Archie will feel tightness in the chest, wheezing, and shortness of breath

Archie will experience an immune response when chemokines and cytokines are produces by the epithelial cells of the airways hence initiating inflammation.

Other physiological response will include:

1.The breathing rate increases (due to the lack of sufficient oxygen)

2. The rate of heartbeat also increases

3. Due to consequent respiratory alkalosis, a larger amount of bicarbonate ions are secreted by the urinary system to achieve homoeostasis.
