Minerals are a necessary nutrient for carrying out metabolic functions in the body. Many minerals are an important component of protein-based enzymes which helps to speed up the digestive processes and many more functions. It also keeps in check the functions of animal organs, muscle, and tissue.

I believe the answer is minerals.
Minerals are inorganic substances that the body cannot manufacture but that act as catalysts, regulating many vital body processes. Nutrients are substances in food that the body needs to function properly to grow, repair, and supply it with energy. These includes, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins and minerals.
