While in utero, a fetus swallows many substances that are deposited in the fetal intestinal system as meconium. what problem can arise from this occurrence?

Meconium aspiration Syndrome

This is the multifactorial and complex pathophysiology of newborns who has aspirated meconium into their lungs from meconium-stained amniotic fluid. This includes airway obstruction, foetal hypoxia, infection,pulmonary inflammation, surfatant inactivation,persistent hypertension and apoptosis.
