Answer: Tim worked on Monday 7:30 and earned $56.25

Explanation: Looking at the timecard, Tim entered his job at 8:15 and left at 4:15. If we count the hours as 24h per day, 4:15 is equal 16:15, so, with that:

16:15 - 8:15 = 8h

But, Tim has a half hour lunch, then, on Monday:

8 h - 30 min = 7h30min

In other words, Tim worked 7 hours and 30 minutes on Monday.

For his earnings: He earns $7.50 per hour. As he worked 7h:

1 hour = 7.50

7 hours = 7.(7.50) = 52.50

But, Tim worked 7 hours and 30 minutes. If 1 hour is $7.50, half hour is

(7.5)/(2) = 3.75

Finally, in 7 hours and 30 minutes, Tim, roughly, receives:

$52.50 + $3.75 = $56.25

On Monday, Tim received $56.25.
