How can you use the pythagorean Theorem to find the distance between two points?

If you have a right triangle with lengths A to B, B to C, and C to A, you can use the following form of the Pythagorean Theorem:

(AC)^2 + (BC)^2 = (AB)^2, where AB represents the hypotenuse. See picture.
