Why does mercury lack seasons?

Answer:

Mercury is not tilted

Step-by-step explanation:

Most planets in the solar system are tilted. The earth is tilted 23°. Hence the North and south poles are not straight up and down as expected. This implies that the sun never really rises or sets in mercury.

So, Mercury's axis is directly perpendicular to its motion (that is what I mean by it is not tilted), hence there are no seasons in mercury. If one were to be on the surface of Mercury, the Sun would almost look like it is three times as big as it does from Earth because mercury is closer to the sun.

In comparison to the planet Earth, Mercury has 0.01 degree axial tilt. This means this planet receives equal cycle of day and night. The seasons are marked by changes in the intensity of sunlight that reaches the Earth's surface which Mercury receives differently.
